Step 1

Step 2
Depending on the location of the process (above or below the diaphragm) place the hands or feet in the appropriate position (first or second standard position).
Step 3
Determine which surface, Yin or Yang, the pathological process is primarily projected onto. In doing this, it is necessary to consider the pathological process in relation to the Yin and Yang surfaces of the body. If it is located near the Yin region of the body (for example, in the heart), the corresponding points should be sought on the Yin surfaces of the hands and feet. If it is located near the Yan region (for example, on the kidneys), the corresponding points should be sought on the dorsal surfaces of the hands and feet.
Step 4
Furthermore, it is necessary to determine in which half of the body, left or right, the pathological process is located. If it is on the left, then the corresponding areas should be found on the left side of the symmetry of the hands and feet. If it is on the right, the corresponding areas are located to the right of the symmetry line.
Step 5
If the pathological process is located on the trunk, the corresponding area is found using additional imaginary lines: midclavicular, umbilical, axillary, etc.
If the pathological process is located on the extremities, their correspondences are found by orienting themselves on the joints and additional imaginary temporary lines.
Step 6
Finally, the correct point is identified by its sharp pain, by checking all the points in the corresponding area using a diagnostic stick.
